The State of New Hampshire was awarded a grant by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to identify gaps in infection prevention. Results of the assessment identified that environmental cleaning and sanitation, personal protective equipment, and hand hygiene were areas that required more attention. A successful Infection prevention program is the result of health care personnel and correctional officers working together through communication, assessment, education, and training.
