RT -05 Expansion of an Opioid Treatment Program in a Large Jail
Description

As the opioid epidemic continues to intensify, the need for intervention in jails is even more urgent. This roundtable will discuss the history and growth of an NCCHC-accredited opioid treatment program. It will focus on meeting the NCCHC OTP standards and offer lessons learned through the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will learn about continuity and initiation of medications for opioid use disorder from initial detention to reentry.

Educational Objectives

 

  • Discuss how to meet NCCHC OTP standards as well as applicable state and federal rules
  • Describe successful implementation of an in-house jail OTP offering all three forms of FDA-approved MOUD
  • Explore ways to maintain continuity of care of substance use treatment from detention to community reentry
