202 Making Connections: Steps to Facilitating Juvenile Reentry
Description

Approximately 25,000 American youth are held in juvenile detention facilities and over 2,000 are held in adult prisons and jails. Individuals exposed to the criminal justice system during childhood have shorter life expectancies, reduced educational attainment, and increased medical and psychiatric needs compared to their peers. Reentry programs are vital to provide support to youths after release. This poster will identify specific elements of reentry related to medical care, psychiatric care, and substance use treatment important to youth success.
