155 Using the Performing Arts to Create Second Acts
Description
For 25 years, Prison Performing Arts (PPA) has built “second acts” for system-impacted youth and adults through the arts. In this session, participants will learn how PPA uses artistic and communicative tools to help reduce recidivism, heal trauma, create safer communities, and prepare those it serves for reentry. This session uses creative hands-on learning opportunities and activities that demonstrate how arts programming can build resilience, self-confidence, and collaboration in carceral facilities and beyond.
