Description

This session will detail a jail-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program developed through collaboration among the sheriff's office, behavioral/public health departments, and justice support services. Participants received an initial naltrexone dose in custody, with follow-up doses provided postrelease to support reentry.

Educational Objectives
  • Evaluate the importance of voluntary participation in a criminal justice system MAT program
  • Apply reentry concepts for those suffering from substance use disorder and returning to the community
  • Describe jurisdiction-specific policies for starting a jail-based MAT program
