Shared Professional Governance is the gold standard when it comes to ANCC Pathway to Excellence and Magnets designations. However, is shared professional governance a possible option in correctional settings? This presentation addresses the key elements of shared governance, discusses how one of the largest single sited jail in the US is embracing this nursing practice model, more specifically it will cover the unique challenges and elements of nursing owning their own practice in correctional settings.
