Medications for opioid use disorder remain underutilized in U.S. carceral settings despite their effectiveness. A narrative review examines postrelease outcomes, including overdose rates and continued MOUD adherence, highlighting the need for expanded access to improve health outcomes in opioid-affected incarcerated populations.
