130 Mapping Professional Identity and Value in Nursing
Description
This presentation provides insight into how correctional nurses (LPNs, RNs, APRNs) perceive their Professional Identity in Nursing (PIN), their value to and impact upon correctional health care systems and patient care. PIN is defined by four domains: ethics and values, knowledge, nurse as leader, and professional comportment or behavior. Nurses with strong PIN are known to be confident and competent in practice, more satisfied with their work, and less likely to leave employment.
