114 Beyond the Checklist: Practical Strategies for Meaningful Quality Improvement*
Description
Correctional health professionals juggle a lot: patient care, compliance, audits, staffing, and more. This session will explore how quality assurance and improvement (QA/QI) can be more than just another requirement. Rather than creating more work, QA/QI can help focus time and energy where it matters most. Presenters will discuss moving from passive monitoring to active improvement, using data to spot priorities and risks, and building systems that work for staff and patients.
Educational Objectives
- Apply data to identify high-risk and high-impact priorities, moving QA/QI from passive monitoring to active improvement
- Design time-efficient audits and processes that provide meaningful, actionable insights rather than redundant reports
- Discuss how sustainable quality systems can reflect mission-driven values, support staff, reduce redundancy, and improve patient care
