Name
202 Bridging Systems: Creating a Child Forensic Psychiatry Clinic
Description
Clinics conducting child forensic psychiatric evaluations are rare in the U.S. despite growing demand at the intersection of mental health, child welfare, and juvenile justice. Rhode Island's academic health system will launch a clinic in October 2025. In preparation, a qualitative study involving interviews with ~20 professionals is underway to identify considerations related to referral, reimbursement, staffing, and structure. Findings will highlight anticipated challenges and optimize the clinic's operations.
