This poster will explore the significant need for programming aimed at young men involved in the juvenile legal system about the prevention of unintended pregnancies, STIs, and intimate partner violence. It will describe Stepping Stones, a program that uses motivational interviewing and health education to address this need, and explain the role of motivational interviewing as an effective participant-centered communication strategy focused on promoting autonomy.
