As immunization coverage for such diseases remains low at intake, detention-based programs truly provide valuable opportunities for bolstering prevention efforts, including screening and vaccination. This literature review summarizes and delineates the disproportionate infectious-disease burdens experienced by detained youth, emphasizing the importance of promoting interventions for hepatitis prevention.
