Name
213 Transgender Incarcerated Individuals: Risks, Gaps, and Interventions
Description

Transgender individuals face a greater risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases, increased susceptibility to sexual violence, barriers to sexual/obstetric health, and inadequate access to gender-affirming care. These risks can intensify distorted perceptions of self-worth, result in gender dysphoria, perpetuate self-directed violence, and contribute to the development of mood disorders. This poster proposes interventions for ensuring equitable and timely access to health care and preserving the overall well-being of transgender patients.
