Providing medical care to difficult or disruptive patients requires clinical skill, consistency, and close collaboration with other staff (e.g., medical, mental health, nursing, security). This session explores practical, patient-centered strategies for managing nonadherence, behavioral challenges, and boundary-testing while maintaining safety, ethics, and standards of care. In this roundtable, participants will discuss communication techniques, documentation best practices, and interdisciplinary approaches that reduce conflict, improve outcomes, and support staff resilience in correctional health settings.
