Dr. Brooke Sheehan, DSW, LCSW, CCS, is a clinical social worker specializing in correctional mental health. She has done work with incarcerated men, women, and juveniles, and specializes in treating individuals with severe and persistent mental illness as well as those experiencing acute psychotic illness and delusional disorders while in the correctional system. She has a special interest in the impact of maternal incarceration on children’s attachment styles and the disruption of family systems. Dr. Sheehan currently works as the assistant regional director of behavioral health for Wellpath in the Maine Department of Corrections.
