Ms. Angela Hurd, MS, MA, LPC, ASOTP completed an MS degree in criminal justice management studies at Sam Houston State University and an MA degree in counseling at Prairie View University. She is a licensed professional counselor who uses her education and experience to provide clinical services to adults with mental health and criminal needs. Ms. Hurd’s education and professional experience focus on the treatment of adults with social, emotional, behavioral, physical, and mental developmental disabilities. Ms. Hurd has experience providing support for adults and adolescents who are physically, mentally, and emotionally disabled or who have various developmental disabilities and criminal backgrounds, as well as their family members. Ms. Hurd currently works as a clinical team lead for the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD inside of Harris County Jail. She supervises peers and clinical staff who provide direct services to individuals in jail and in the community. Ms. Hurd specializes in treating adults and adolescents with psychological, physiological, and mental health concerns, mood disorders, and more. Her therapeutic approach utilizes person-centered and cognitive behavioral treatment modalities. Counseling is a passion that she has always enjoyed, and her goal is to help thoseindividuals who want to help themselves and learn from them as much as they learn from her.
