Dr. Farrah Harden, MD, CCHP, is a physician surveyor with NCCHC, where she has brought nearly 10 years of experience in caring for incarcerated individuals. She previously worked as staff physician and acting medical director during the COVID-19 pandemic in one of Georgia's largest jails. She holds a BS degree in biology from Tuskegee University and an MD degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she also trained in internal medicine. A former National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health fellow, Dr. Harden has had a long-time commitment to public health and education. She serves as Adjunct Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine, has previously served on NCCHC's Young Professional Committee, and serves on the American College of Correctional Physicians' Education Committee, with a goal of influencing more physicians of color to pursue correctional medicine. Outside of her professional roles, she is involved in a number of academic and public education based initiatives in service to her family and local community.
