Speaker Bio
Ms. Jessica Blanchard grew up having a passion for understanding and helping individuals with mental health symptoms. After serving in the military and witnessing the importance of mental health treatment, she pursued a degree in counseling psychology. Upon graduating with her master’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, she worked as community mental health provider specializing in providing treatment services for justice-involved individuals with violent criminal backgrounds and behavioral health needs. Eventually Ms. Blanchard moved to Washington where she was employed at an inpatient mental health treatment facility, continuing to work with individuals experiencing acute mental illness and involvement with the court system. She now works with Washington State Health Care Authority’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, as the program administrator for the Reentry Community Services Program. As program administrator she has continued to serve the most at-risk population as they exit Department of Corrections facilities, while reducing recidivism, improving daily living, decreasing criminal behaviors, saving state dollars, and creating a safer community. When she isn't working, Ms. Blanchard enjoys spending time on her farm with her family and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and all it has to offer.
