Dr. Nathaniel Day is an addiction medicine physician from Alberta, Canada. He has been recognized in Canada for his work to remove barriers to empirically proven addiction treatment in community and correctional spaces. Dr. Day has been recognized by the Health Quality Council of Alberta and the Canadian Health Standards Organization, was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for his addiction work, and was recently given a META Recovery Conference of Canada lifetime achievement award. Dr. Day has advised successive governments in his jurisdiction on their opioid responses both on the Ministers Opioid Emergency Response Commission and co-chaired the recovery expert advisory panel. Dr. Day is now the chief scientific officer at the Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence based in Calgary, Alberta.
