Ms. Ritu Sampige, BS, is a second-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine. As a volunteer and research chair of the medical student-led Justice-InvolvEd organization at Baylor College of Medicine, she creates and teaches health education classes to individuals at the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas. Ms. Sampige has been awarded the first-place prize for her presentation at the Baylor College of Medicine Service Learning Program Symposium regarding her work teaching women's health classes to individuals at the Harris County Jail. She is very determined and dedicated to improving the quality of health and access to health care for justice-involved populations.
