Dr. Shelton, Professor Emeritus- University of Connecticut and Adjunct Professor- University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and President of the American Correctional Nurses Association.  Dr. Shelton is a self-employed expert with a focus on correctional health services and clinical practice, correctional nurse education and research. She is an experienced clinician and researcher; and has published over 100 articles, with an equal number of presentations nationally and internationally.
