Dr. Kev Kokoska is a clinical counsellor and psychologist-in-training whose work focuses on trauma, resilience, and population-specific mental health interventions in correctional settings. Based at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Kev is completing an Interdisciplinary PhD that integrates psychology, public health, and knowledge translation methods to develop scalable, culturally grounded tools for incarcerated populations. Clinically, Dr. Kokoska has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to men in federal prisons and in community re-entry programs, with specialization in trauma recovery, attachment, and experiential approaches. He has co-created trauma literacy manuals, peer-support curricula, and educational modules currently in use across Canadian, American, and South African correctional systems. His work emphasizes collaborative practices that expand access to care in constrained environments and align clinical innovation with institutional realities.
