Ms. Maya Berns is a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and a school social work intern providing social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care to middle school students. She previously interned with the Office of the Guardian ad Litem, supporting youth involved in delinquency and dependency proceedings. Her experience includes managing cases at the Zebulon Pike Youth Services Center and contributing to research evaluating court-ordered therapy for justice-involved youth. Ms. Berns is committed to advancing social justice and promoting trauma-informed, rehabilitative approaches for vulnerable populations.
