This qualitative phenomenological study explores the health care experiences of incarcerated transgender individuals using an interpretative phenomenological analysis approach. The study examines resources, barriers, and health implications, highlighting encounters with inadequate medical care, lack of gender-affirming treatments, and violence, as well as resilience. Findings underscore the urgent need for inclusive, trauma-informed, gender-affirming approaches in both research and practice.
