Dr. Stephanie Gangemi is an Assistant Professor in the MSW program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, College of Public Service. Stephanie is also a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado. Dr. Gangemi brings more than 15 years of social work practice and academic teaching experience. She has more than a decade of experience in correctional mental health, practicing at Riker's Island as well as serving as the director of mental health at the El Paso County Jail in Colorado. Her research explores the training and experiences of the correctional health care workforce. She is also the 2018 first-place winner of the international Seidenberg Paper Prize on proposed solutions to issues between guards and inmates.
