Dr. Briana P. Murray received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Clemson University in 2012. She then completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the South Carolina College of Pharmacy in Columbia, South Carolina in 2016. Upon graduation, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to complete a postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) community pharmacy residency at Dr. Aziz Pharmacy/Purdue University College of Pharmacy. During her time as a resident, she further developed substance use disorder and travel health services at the Dr. Aziz Clinic, serving over 30 and 100 patients, respectively. Following her PGY1, Dr. Murray accepted a staff pharmacist position at an innovative Walgreens pharmacy that offered compounding, delivery, and specialized services to a local federally qualified health center. After working in the community for 3 years, she decided to further her training by completing a PGY2 in ambulatory care pharmacy with Community Care Physicians, P.C./Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. During her time as a resident, she was embedded in a large family practice medical office in Guilderland, New York servicing mostly diabetic patients. In her current role as clinical pharmacist for CorrectRx, she is responsible for clinical and administrative duties for four correctional facilities in central Maryland. Shortly after starting in this new career field, Dr. Murray became a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist. Dr. Murray’s current interests are diabetes, psychiatry, and substance use disorder.
