Patients in the correctional setting frequently present with untreated, complex medical issues. Deciding when and where patients should be referred to a higher level of care can be difficult and fraught with liability. This presentation will educate participants on a systematic approach to determining whether to refer patients to a higher level of care and how to manage those critical referrals.
