Description

Corrections is a team sport. It requires uniformed and non-uniformed staff to work together to achieve correctional objectives. But the relationship between the different disciplines can be difficult to manage. This presentation offers ways to bridge the gap to foster and maintain these critical working relationships. Participants will discuss using common language, listening to and appreciating a different perspective, and the importance of  open communication between all parties involved.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe challenges between correctional health services and custody officials
  • Identify ways to eliminate barriers to collaboration between correctional health services and custody officials
  • Discuss key components that can drive collaboration between health services and custody officials
