Mr. Nicholas Wagner began his career at the Douglas County Department of Corrections in Omaha, Nebraska in July 2013. Starting as an officer, Mr. Wagner worked his way up through the ranks, becoming a corporal in 2016, and then sergeant in 2019. He supervises an area of the facility that houses people who require a higher level of care and attention. Working closely and in concert with custody staff, medical professionals, and mental health practitioners, Mr. Wagner uses education and experience to bridge the gap that exists between uniformed and non-uniformed staff to ensure that those he supervises receive appropriate treatment. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is working towards furthering his education to better assist the ever growing needs of both staff and incarcerated individuals.
