Dr. Kathryn Cook is a licensed clinical psychologist who studied at Nova Southeastern University and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked within the Florida Department of Corrections for the past 11 years, and currently serves as regional mental health director for Centurion for various institutions in central Florida. She supervises and mentors numerous early-career mental health clinicians who work in corrections, including serving on the Training Committee for the American Psychological Association-accredited psychology internship and residency programs offered to psychology trainees in the Florida Department of Corrections. She also works to increase society’s understanding of mental health care in corrections, and is currently on the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office Community Council. She consistently emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and self-care for correctional clinicians, and aims to continue to improve the quality of mental health care in the correctional environment.
