Lt. Andrew Saavedra has been with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over 19 years and is currently an administrative lieutenant at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He’s assigned to the Detention Services Division and oversees all medical and mental health services within CCDC. Lt. Saavedra also works closely with CCDC’s Mental Health Team and LVMPD’s Behavioral Health Unit to develop new strategies in managing and treating those individuals suffering from mental illness while reducing crime. Prior to working for Las Vegas Metro Police Department, Lt.Saavedra was in the U.S. Air Force. He has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Bellevue University.
