305 Improving Self-Regulation With the Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire
Description

Recognizing the impact of adverse childhood experiences lays the groundwork to provide trauma-informed care, including interventions to practice self-regulatory behaviors, increase self-efficacy, and improve decision-making when individuals are at risk for violence. A quality improvement project in a correctional facility used the ACEs questionnaire during the initial psychiatric evaluation of incarcerated men and women. Learn how including the ACE assessment can help in creating interventions that mitigate effects of violence in the lives of incarcerated individuals.
