313 Treating Psychosis in Jail: The Sooner the Better for Everyone
Description

This presentation will discuss the reasons why psychosis should be treated as soon as possible, the barriers to faster treatment in the jail setting, and how Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA County has overcome the challenges to get seriously mentally ill patients treated within 24 hours of arrival. An overview of psychosis, its long-term consequences on the brain, implications for acute and chronic treatment, and impact on prognosis will also be shared.
