336 Sleep Inequities in Incarcerated Youth: A Quality Improvement Project
Description

The session will discuss the diagnosis of insomnia in youth, the difficulties diagnosing and treating insomnia in a juvenile rehabilitation administration residential facility, and a novel approach to improving the treatment of insomnia utilizing wearable activity/sleep tracker devices. We will review the diagnostic criteria needed to diagnose sleep disorders per the DSM-5, uncover some of the far-reaching outcomes of chronic poor sleep, and discuss the benefits of wearable activity/sleep tracker devices in addressing such sleep difficulties.
