Description

Medication-assisted treatment significantly reduces overdose deaths and improves treatment engagement, yet barriers to access persist in correctional settings. This session explores the challenges of expanding MAT within the carceral population and introduces the concept of "MAT normalization" as a strategy to improve access, reduce stigma, and enhance outcomes for justice-involved individuals.
