Ms. Taylor Farris is a contract Clinical Social Worker for Voitier Group LLC and Counseling and Recovery Guidance, LLC. Through Voitier Group, Taylor is contracted to Lafayette Parish Correctional Center (LPCC) to provide mental health services to the justice-involved population. Ms. Farris provides psychotherapy to private-pay clients through counseling and recovery guidance. Taylor has a MSW with a concentration in Mental Health, from the University of Southern California. She has completed over 60+ hours in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy training and education, and has completed a 20+ hour certificate program in C-DBT. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and has served on the regional Louisiana Political Action for Candidate Election committee and Louisiana Annual Conference Committee. Ms. Farris has presented on the local, state, and national level in regard to ethical and effective mental health treatment for justice-involved individuals. She has been contracted to work at LPCC for approximately 5 years and currently provides quality mental health care to the incarcerated individuals of LPCC, along with conducting mental health training to all incoming cadets. Her passion is to assist clients in understanding themselves, the path that got them to LPCC, and how they can improve their situation outside of the facility. An important part of this process is to ensure that staff are educated in DBT skills that will help reinforce the work with clients. She is also a trained member of the Southern Law Enforcement Foundation that provides on-call Crisis Incident Stress Management (CISM) services. As a member, she completed 16 hours of training to provide defusing and debriefings to Louisiana officers involved in crisis incidents that are deemed distressing by their supervisors, officer-involved shootings, and officer-involved deaths. Prior to working at LPCC, Ms. Farris was employed at Raymond Laborde Correction Center (RLCC), a men's medium/maximum security state prison in Central Louisiana. She provided quality mental health treatment to the incarcerated individuals and trained staff members on Mental Health First Aid.
