Director Kyle Pelletier brings over 15 years of leadership and hands-on experience to her current role as the Director of Special Programs for the Massachusetts Department of Correction. In that capacity, she played a pivotal role in ending restrictive housing by designing and implementing a behavioral assessment and program intervention model. This shift to a more productive response to disruptive behavior in prison stemmed from her successful work as the Deputy Superintendent of Reentry for MCI-Framingham, the Department’s facility for women.

In addition to leading a team to develop an alternative to restrictive housing at MCI-Framingham, this seasoned professional collaborated with internal and external stakeholders to create a trauma informed gender specific program that addressed unique pathways for women in the criminal justice system. Her many innovative contributions at MCI-Framingham resulted in her receiving the Deputy Superintendent of the Year Award in 2019 for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and her promotion to her current position.

She has presented many times within the department, statewide, nationally and internationally. She has a a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
