Erin Kinsel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in North Carolina, deeply dedicated to supporting justice-involved individuals. Her passion for this population developed through her work in behavioral health systems across Ohio and North Carolina over the past 20 years. Erin earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio University and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). Throughout her career, Erin has held a variety of roles, working with both children and adults in institutional settings, providing community-based supported employment, and playing a key role in a Department of Justice (DOJ) settlement agreement that focuses on transitioning adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) from institutional settings to less restrictive community-based settings. Currently, Erin serves as the Director of Support Transition and Reentry at Trillium Health Resources, where she leads a reentry program designed to help adults with SMI and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) transition from correctional facilities back into their communities. In this role, Erin supervises a team that includes clinicians, Qualified Professionals (QPs), peer staff, and program managers. For over 11 years, Erin has been at the forefront of developing and creating innovative programs for adults with behavioral health conditions in North Carolina. Her work continues to have a lasting impact on the state's behavioral health landscape.
