Dr. John Tomarchio is a board-certified addiction medicine specialist with over 10 years of experience working and teaching in the field of correctional medicine. After completing medical school, he earned master’s degrees in public health and business administration. He also is board certified in environmental and occupational medicine. Dr. Tomarchio’s correctional medicine experience includes service in state prison systems, county jail detention centers, and juvenile centers. He served as the medical director for the South Carolina Department of Corrections, and currently is an assistant chief medical officer for VitalCore Health Strategies, where he coordinates development of medication-assisted therapy programs in correctional facilities around the country.
