Mr. Jarrod M. Wall was incarcerated in 1989 at age 17 and sentenced to 60 years in Indiana. During the next 26 years, he earned four college degrees and administered an onsite college program. After his release in 2015, he earned a master’s degree in psychology and is now a PhD student in sociology at Tulane University. His research interests include postcarceral stigma, prison postsecondary education, and the condition commonly known as post-incarcerated syndrome (PICS). He collaborates with a team of community-engaged researchers studying PICS and developing a curriculum for the Formerly Incarcerated Peer Support group.
