Dr. Brian Holoyda is chief psychiatrist of Contra Costa County Detention Health Services. He oversees clinical care provided by 10 psychiatrists at three pretrial detention facilities. He previously served as a faculty member at Saint Louis University. He has published and presented internationally on issues in forensic psychiatry, including violence risk assessment, paraphilic disorders, and legal risks associated with psychedelic drugs. He has received the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law’s Rappeport Fellowship and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse’s Fay Honey Knopp Scholarship.
