Ms. Michaela McCusker is a global health major at the University of Southern California, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with an expected graduation in May 2027. Her academic interests include global health equity, community health systems, and improving access to care for underserved populations. She previously attended Lafayette College, where she studied biochemistry and economics and conducted undergraduate research on bacterial quorum sensing as a potential therapeutic target, presenting her work at an American Chemical Society conference. Michaela has gained clinical experience through roles with City of Hope and volunteer work in oncology and imaging departments. She is also active in global health initiatives through Global Medical Brigades, providing preventive care in rural communities in Panama and Guatemala. Additionally, she serves as an EMT and has held leadership roles in student organizations, including the Biological Honor Society and the Lafayette Happiness Project.
