This poster describes an analysis using sociological methods that addresses the unique challenges correctional health care workers face when advocating for their patients. The poster will cover the ways prison and jail health care workers negotiate with custody staff to address challenges related to HIPAA, health care in high-security settings, medication assisted treatment, drug testing, prisoner transport to off-site clinics, and treating patients with dementia and Alzheimer's.
