Ms. Allison Gorga is an Associate Professor and the Director of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Webster University, in St. Louis, MO. She received her PhD in Sociology in 2018 from the University of Iowa, where her dissertation examined how prison staff and service providers made sense of initiatives and calls for "evidence-based practices." She also has a MA in Sociology from the University of Iowa, and a BA in Sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. Her research focuses on prison organizational practices, and she is currently working on several projects targeted at understanding prison health care. She has been published in Sexualities, Social Currents, Advances in Gender Research, and Women, Crime & Justice.
