Description

Brain injury is an often-overlooked factor influencing justice-involved individuals' risks and responsivity to treatment. This session will explore the high prevalence of brain injuries among incarcerated populations; brain injury's neurocognitive effects; implications for rehabilitation and recidivism; and available resources, including interventions and community supports to improve outcomes. Attendees will gain insight into screening protocols to identify brain injury and strategies for integrating this knowledge into treatment planning.
