Description
Research indicates that clear documentation and communication among providers increases the quality of patient care and reduces negative outcomes. Mental status is a key element in the process of assessment and communication among providers and is often underutilized outside of mental health disciplines. This presentation will focus on effective application of the mental status examination among nursing providers in corrections. Participants will learn the elements of the mental status examination, assessment techniques, and potential mental and physical health issues associated with changes in mental status.
