Description

Pain is a complex symptom, often difficult to treat, and occurs prevalently in correctional settings. Cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain (CBT-CP) is a promising approach to help people better adjust, cope, and live with chronic pain during incarceration. The presentation provides an overview of CBT-CP and how it can be used by correctional health care practitioners to help improve quality of life and functional pain indicators.
