Guam officials will present the challenges and accomplishments of its correctional facility, which also serves as a site for pretrial and detention of immigration and federal detainees. From being a jail to becoming a full-fledged correctional institution facing unprecedented challenges, this facility strives to meet its mission of safety and security while promoting health care and rehabilitation. The presenters will share these challenges and the strategies utilized that are inherent in its unique and diverse cultural practices.
