Correctional health care is a vital specialty area that requires nurses. The role, function, and scope of practice in the correctional setting, however, can become unclear and is sometimes influenced more by the work culture and environment than by adhering to the scope of practice as defined by national nursing organizations and State Nurse Practice Acts. This presentation will explore the role and function of the LPN/LVN in the context of Scope of Practice.
