The DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to provide behavioral health services to youth in its juvenile detention and residential facilities. The behavioral health teams on-site at the facilities comprise multiple disciplines including mental health specialists, substance abuse counselors, restorative justice specialists, juvenile justice institutional counselors, and credible messengers. This poster highlights the function of each team, their contributions to youth development, and areas for improvement in delivering behavioral health services.
